PENSACOLA, Fla. – Local entrepreneurs can receive free technical assistance thanks to a new partnership between the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Economic Gardening Institute (FEGI).
Companies with $1 million to $25 million in revenue and between 10 and 50 employees qualify for the mentoring program. Once selected, GrowFL will deploy a team of nationally renowned analysts from the Edward Lowe Foundation to provide technical assistance and decision-making tools such as database research, strategy analysis, management team temperament and capital and labor referrals.
“This partnership is part of a continued effort by the Chamber to reposition the region’s economy toward firms with significant growth potential that will lead to more high wage jobs in the Pensacola Bay Area,” said Charles Wood, the Chamber’s senior vice president of economic development. “The program dovetails the Chamber’s strategic health, entrepreneurship and technology-focused efforts.”
Patterned after a proven program pioneered in Colorado, FEGI was funded by the Florida Legislature last year to stimulate investment in Florida’s economy in the following sectors: manufacturing; finance and insurance; wholesale trade; information industries; professional, scientific and technical services; management services; and administrative and support services.
