NORTHWEST FLORIDA LEADERSHIP CLASSES VISIT ELECTED OFFICIALS

Pensacola, Fla. - Nearly 150 professionals from Leadership Pensacola, Leadership Santa Rosa, Leadership Okaloosa and Leadership Walton joined forces for NWFL Leadership Legislative Days in Tallahassee March 24-25.

The group spent two days meeting with the Northwest Florida legislative delegation including representatives Coley, Drake, Evers, Ford, Murzin and Sen. Gaetz.

They also met Speaker of the House Larry Cretul, Commissioner of Agriculture Charles Bronson, Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation Charlie Liem, Secretary of the Department of Children and Families George Sheldon, Secretary of State Kurt Browning and the governor’s Chief of Staff Shane Strum. Additionally, they visited the Supreme Court where they interacted with Santa Rosa County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Santurri and Supreme Court Justice Jorge Labarga.

During the trip, each class advocated for or described an issue of importance such as the gap of K-12 funding for Santa Rosa County, Hwy 331 in Walton County, the USO room at the regional airport in Okaloosa County and voting rights for local government structures in Pensacola.
